Jon is a very experienced solicitor and advocate and is the principal of Dobsons Solicitors.
Jon offers extensive experience of a wide range of litigation matters since commencing practice in 1993. He now particularly handles the following:
- a wide range of injury and accident claims. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers
- negligence claims against other professionals, especially other solicitors, and was a member of the Legal Complaints Service panel of solicitors for solicitors’ negligence claims as well as being a member of the Association of Professional Negligence Lawyers
- a range of property and contract related litigation and disputes, housing cases especially disrepair and related injuries and employment tribunal claims and issues.
He has experience of family law, criminal defence, conveyancing, social welfare and other areas of solicitors’ practice to call upon where required.
In addition, Jon is the Supervisor of the Legal Services Commission Specialist Housing Contract and one of the leading Landlord and Tenant/Housing solicitors in the area.
Amy McLaughlin
Amy originally trained as a barrister, but later converted to being a solicitor in early 2007, although she has worked within solicitors’ practices since mid-2005.
Amy concentrates on two areas of work:
- The whole range of Landlord and Tenant and Housing cases, and is a regular and respected advocate before the local courts, including on Housing Duty schemes. She is a member of the Housing Law Practitioners’ Association
- Road traffic and employer’s liability personal injury /accident claims from commencement up to trial
- She has experience of other areas of civil litigation earlier in her career.
Joanne Ritson
Joanne has undertaken exclusively Matrimonial and Children work for the more recent part fo her career since 2005.
Having undertaken the whole range of work during that period for both private and Legal Aid clients, Joanne particularly specialises in children, matrimonial finance and domestic violence cases.
Joanne is a member of Resolution, the leading specialist family practitioner organisation.
Martyn Brooks
Martyn is a consultant to the practice, providing more than twenty years experience in Matrimonial and Children cases in particular. Martyn is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and a Resolution accredited specialist.
Martyn especially undertakes:
- Child care cases and adoption
- Other complex children-related disputes
- Matrimonial finance
- Advocacy.
